Does a bot join my lesson?
No. Nothing joins your call and there is nothing to install. You record from Jotmonk in your own browser, either your microphone and the lesson tab, or your microphone only.
Which browsers and devices work?
Recording the lesson tab works in Chrome or Edge on a computer. Microphone-only recording works in any browser, for in-person or phone lessons. You can also upload a recording you already have (MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4 or WebM).
Can I use it with Preply or italki?
Yes. Record the lesson tab while you teach, then copy the finished note in plain text for your platform's messages. Jotmonk is independent and is not part of Preply or italki.
Does it know who said what?
Yes. Your voice and your student's are kept apart. If it is ever unsure, Jotmonk plays you ten seconds and asks which one is you.
Can I check and edit the notes before my student sees them?
Always. Anything Jotmonk is unsure of is marked Check this. You confirm, edit or remove it, then mark the notes as reviewed. Copy, PDF and email unlock only after that.
Can my student see my private notes?
No. Observations, open items and skills progress are for you only. Sensitive details such as health, family or money stay out of the student's version unless you add them.
How does my student get the notes?
You choose: copy them as plain text for your platform, for WhatsApp, for email or as Markdown, download a PDF, email them, or share a link that you can turn off.
Which languages are supported?
English is fully supported. Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Hindi, Arabic and Urdu are in beta. Arabic and Urdu notes read right to left.
Is it only for language tutors?
No. Jotmonk works for SEO, copywriting, paid ads, web development, data analysis, spreadsheets, baking, cooking, pastry, tailoring, fashion design, business and more, plus any subject you add yourself.
How much will it cost?

Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete a lesson's transcript at any time, choose how long transcripts are kept, and delete your account.
