How Jotmonk handles information about tutors, students and lessons, in plain words.

1. Who we are
Jotmonk™ is a product of Lucalvry LLC ("Jotmonk", "we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit jotmonk.xyz, join the waitlist, contact us or use the Jotmonk app.
We wrote it to be read. If anything is unclear, write to support@jotmonk.xyz and we will explain it.
2. Our role and the tutor's role
For tutors and website visitors, Lucalvry LLC is the controller of the information we collect about you.
For lessons and student records, the tutor decides which lessons to record and what to keep. The tutor is the controller of that information and we process it on the tutor's behalf, under these terms and our data processing commitments.
3. Information we collect

4. How we use it and why

5. What we never do
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not use lessons, transcripts or notes for advertising.
- We do not use your lessons to train third-party AI models. Our providers are contractually barred from doing so.
- We do not record video, and Jotmonk never joins your call as a bot.
6. Recording lessons
Tutors are responsible for having their student's agreement before recording, and a parent or guardian's for students under 18, in line with the laws where they and their student live. The app helps the tutor keep a record of this for each student.
7. Students and children
- Students see only what their tutor chooses to send.
- Sensitive details such as health, family, money or another student's name stay out of the student's version unless the tutor includes them.
- Notes for a student under 18 go to the parent or guardian on record.
- Tutor accounts are for adults (18 or over). We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
- Students and guardians can ask their tutor, or us, to access, correct or delete their information.
8. Who processes data for us
We share information only with providers that help us run Jotmonk. They act on our instructions and under written data protection terms.

This list covers the providers that process personal information for Jotmonk. We update it when a provider changes.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
9. International transfers
Jotmonk serves tutors worldwide, so information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we use approved safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum, plus technical protections such as encryption.
10. How long we keep it

11. How we protect it
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Each tutor's lessons are visible only to that tutor.
- Our team can open a lesson only for support or safety, and every such access is logged.
- Access to systems is limited to the people who need it.
- If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
12. Your rights, wherever you live
We honor these rights for everyone, wherever they live:
- Access the information we hold about you, and get a copy in a portable format.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Object to or restrict some processing.
- Withdraw any agreement you gave, at any time.
- Not be treated differently for using these rights.
EU and UK (GDPR, UK GDPR): you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information beyond what the service needs.
Nigeria (NDPA and applicable NDPR requirements), Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA) and other regions: you have the rights your local law gives you, and we will honor them.
To use any right, tutors can download or delete their data in the app, or anyone can write to support@jotmonk.xyz. We reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity.
14. Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the date above. For significant changes we will tell tutors by email before they take effect.
