Cookie policy
Every cookie the Jotmonk website and app use, and how you stay in control.
Last updated 29 October 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
First-party cookies are set by Jotmonk. Third-party cookies are set by a provider we use. Session cookies end when you close the browser; persistent cookies last for a set time.
2. Our approach
- We use as few cookies as possible.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, ever.
- No optional analytics scripts are configured on this website.
- We never sell information collected through cookies.
3. Categories we use
| Name | Category | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Essential | Jotmonk | App sign-in; no app sign-in is needed to read this website | See app table |
| Preferences | Optional | Jotmonk | No new preference storage set by this website | Legacy items until cleared |
| Analytics | Optional | None | Not configured on this website | None |
| Advertising | Optional | None | Not configured | None |
4. On this website
| Name | Category | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| jotmonk-consent (legacy local storage) | Preferences | Jotmonk | A previous version saved an analytics choice. This version does not use it or load optional analytics | Until you clear site data |
5. In the Jotmonk app
| Name | Category | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Strictly necessary | Jotmonk | Keeps you signed in to the app | Session, refreshed while active |
6. Changing your choice
You can clear legacy choices in your browser settings. This website does not currently ask for an analytics choice because no optional analytics scripts are configured. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask before loading them.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies:
- Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies.
- Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions.
- Safari: Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop sign-in and recording from working in the app.
8. Global Privacy Control
No optional analytics or advertising scripts are configured on this website, whether or not your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal.
9. Changes to this policy
When we add or remove a cookie, we update the tables on this page and the date above.
